How long does it take to get approved for SSD?

Unfortunately, the social security disability application process is ridiculously long and arduous. It can take as long as 2 years to get your application through because most cases as turned down the first and second times and there are long waits.

If you case is turned down, be sure to appeal within 60 days. If you don’t, you’ll have to start the process all over again failing to appeal is like losing your place in line.

Even though the SSD process is a total pain, don’t give up.

Susan is not happy about the wait, but fortunately does have some income from her husband. She has asked her attorney to appeal the moment her initial application is turned down.
