A recent lawsuit filed against internet personality DJ Akademiks, by Fauziya "Ziya" Abashe has brought forth serious allegations of rape, sexual assault, and defamation. Abashe, the plaintiff in the case, recounts a disturbing series of events that transpired after she accepted an invitation to DJ Akademiks' residence on July 16, 2022.

According to court documents, Abashe met Akademiks in 2021 and briefly dated him thereafter. In July of 2022, Akademiks invited Abashe over despite the fact they hadn’t seen each other in recent months. Upon her arrival, she was met by two unidentified men, referred to as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2 in the lawsuit. Abashe alleges that these men proceeded to drug her by allegedly providing her with spiked alcohol the entire night, leading to a state of unconsciousness.

The lawsuit details the harrowing experience Abashe claims to have endured, stating that she regained consciousness in the early hours of July 17, 2022, to find herself in a bedroom with Akademiks. Abashe alleges that she was subjected to him “pulling her hair, prying open her legs, and brutally raping her,” while she “begged” him to stop. She describes feeling physically incapacitated and unable to fight him off during the assault.

Abashe further asserts that upon confronting Akademiks the following day about the events of the previous night, he allegedly directed her to a garbage can containing two condom wrappers, insinuating that the assault had continued with the involvement of the two unidentified men. She also claims that Akademiks showed her surveillance footage of the assault near the pool deck, depicting her as "lying there lifeless."

In addition to the physical assault, Abashe accuses Akademiks of engaging in defamatory behavior by publicly misrepresenting the events of that night. The lawsuit alleges that Akademiks has told his following of Abashe “voluntarily having an orgy with his friends at his home” and on a Rumble live stream denied her sexual assault claims. This alleged defamation, according to Abashe, has caused significant harm to her reputation and emotional well-being.

Following the assault, Abashe sought medical attention and underwent a rape kit examination, which reportedly yielded DNA evidence of Akademik’s. According to the lawsuit, authorities were able to take pictures of “bruises on Abashe’s arm, back, buttocks, and legs” which further supported her claims. She also cooperated with law enforcement, providing detailed accounts of the assault and participating in recorded conversations with Akademiks.
